Retirees who receive their pension under the Employees' Pension Scheme (EPS) can now submit their life certificates online without the need for Aadhaar fingerprint authentication, according to the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO). This move aims to simplify the process and make it easier for pensioners who may face difficulties in biometric authentication.

The EPFO has launched a new system called Jeevan Pramaan, which allows pensioners to submit their life certificates online using a computer, laptop, or smartphone. Pensioners can also visit the nearest Common Service Centre (CSC) and submit their life certificates.

In the past, the EPFO required pensioners to submit their life certificates in person or via mail. However, this process was not always convenient for pensioners, particularly those living in remote areas or with mobility issues. With the new system, pensioners can easily submit their life certificates from the comfort of their homes, eliminating the need for physical presence.

To submit their life certificates through Jeevan Pramaan, pensioners must register on the website using their Pension Payment Order (PPO) number and bank account details. They can then download and install the Jeevan Pramaan application on their computer, laptop, or smartphone. Once the application is installed, they can use it to generate a digital certificate that will be sent to the EPFO.

The EPFO encourages all pensioners who receive their pension under the EPS to take advantage of the Jeevan Pramaan system to submit their life certificates online. This will not only simplify the process but also reduce the burden on pensioners and the EPFO.
